Royalcover’s Trip to Lake Como

In the sunny and pleasant month of May, the camera crew of Royalcover arrived at Lake Como in the north of Italy and started the three-day live-action filming.
There are many places in Italy that make people feel too delighted to leave, including mysterious Rome, ancient Pompeii, Venice, the city of Water, renaissance Florence, and even the small Verona, a place that people yearn for because of the romance between Romeo and Juliet. The story of Royalcover’s 2012 autumn and winter series takes place in Lake Como, which is situated in the Alps in the north of Italy, one of the most famous resorts in the world. Lake Como, renowned as Milan’s backyard, is surrounded by mountains, quietly making people feel relaxed and happy with its intangible and deep romantic charm. On both banks of the lake, plants are luxuriant and flowers are in full bloom, it seems as if you were in a fantastic fairyland while immersed in the aroma. Different from other resorts, Lake Como has become a hot spot where aristocracies and famous artists have battled to build villas since the Roman Empire. Many antique villas built by different designers in different ages, which have gone through several generations of distinguished aristocratic families, turn out to be more noble, quiet, low-key and luxurious after experiencing all the splendors in the world.
Villa Balbianello is the most characteristic villa in the central lake, though it’s not the largest and most historic in the Lake Como area. About three centuries ago, Cardinal Angelo Durini started building the villa. All the villa gardens are designed based on natural terrain, thus Princess Padme Amidala fell in love with handsome Anakin Skywalker in Star Wars: Episode 2: Attack of the Clones and James Bond in 007 Casino Royale recovered his vitality after getting injured. Nowadays, Villa Balbianello, as a private museum, is full of mysterious feeling. Viewed from afar on the lake, the well-proportioned villa is arranged exquisitely. A canoe drifts past, passing the door of Villa Balbianello, circles of ripples seeming to streak the border of a dream.
In addition to the world-famous landscape of lakes and mountains, Lake Como is the original place of real silk with the strongest strength in the whole of Europe. Many real silk clothes and ornaments of famous brands such as Chanel, Hermes and Valentino are made in Como. No matter how the wind of the fashion world blows, the charm of classical tradition becomes increasingly lasting and fresh along with the changes of the times, which coincides with the philosophy of Royalcover.
Monica, a female Italian photographer, and Andrew, a master photographer, shot the indoor and outdoor scenes, where Milan’s famous models put on outstanding performances. In Villa Balbianello, a vivid legend about the harmonious coexistence among people, nature and home textiles takes place along the shores of Lake Como. Under the leadership of the film producer, Royalcover employees turn the room of Villa Balbianello into a noble bedroom which has undergone the changes of time. On one side, a floor window overlooks the lake, while on the other, a peaceful corridor leads to the garden. Surrounding wallpapers consists of gold foil and ancient carving wallboards which were exclusively used for the aristocracy and the court during the construction period. On the floor, the pure Turkish wool carpet feels soft. A king-size bed is placed in the middle of the bedroom, where the sun is shining beautifully in through the window, falling upon the well-arranged bedding. Thus, the whole bedroom is filled with golden sunshine and the gloss emitted from Royalcover’s real silk bedclothes.
The garden of Villa Balbianello is selected as the outdoor scene, where models wear Royalcover’s light pajamas and feel relaxed enough to jog alongside Lake Como, as if Aphrodite in roman mythology were walking in a landscape painting.
As the saying goes, “return represents sublimation.” While rooted in Italy and absorbing the cultural spirit of the renaissance, Royalcover home textile present its Italian elegance in an aristocratic manor. The layout of the scene including landscape, famous models, antique villas and Royalcover’s exquisite products turns out to be picturesque, tempting the hearts of people and emitting enchantment.
Como is the gift given to Italy by the gods. While looking at the lakeside grassland, antique villas and enchanted forest in the distance, one can feel the diligent inspiration of nature. While listening to the sound of the wind along with vanilla aroma and the lapping of lake water on the banks, one will feel as if he returned to the middle ages. Though Lake Como is neither the starting point nor the end point of an Italian trip, it will bring you a purely unforgettable experience.
